Extended day preschool for 3 to 5 year old children operates on a longer day of 8::45 am - 2:45 pm, rather than the traditional 2 1/2hours in the morning or afternoon. The extended program enjoys the same facilities and curriculum as the traditional preschool and full day programs. Parents often utilize the extended day format when working shorter hours or closer to home.

Essentially, a child in the extended day preschool program participates in the 3-5 yr old full day program in the AM. Depending on availability and your child's need for an afternoon rest, (s)he can remain with the 3-5 year olds or the PM preschool. Please see the 3-5 year old program for a break down of the day.

Note that the extended day program is not available during Spring, Christmas and Summer Breaks as well as professional days or school closures taken by Blakeburn Elementary. Parents are urged to seek alternative arrangements. Additionally, earlier drop-off or later pick-up cannot be accomodated, as the space is shared with another program.
